FRA02 – Iron Mountain

Iron Mountain – FRA02 is a greenfield facility spanning 26,000 m² with 27 MW of power capacity, located on a 2.6-hectare site just 5 km from the heart of Frankfurt, one of Europe’s leading data hubs. Acquired in 2021, FRA-2 adds an additional 10.6 MW to the campus, bringing the total capacity across FRA-1 and FRA-2 to 37.6 MW, with a combined total space of 64,500 m².

To support our client, GMES Ltd was commissioned to deliver comprehensive Inspection, Testing, and Documentation services for the new LV installation. Our scope of work covered torque verification of all primary and secondary cable terminations, detailed inspection and testing of the LV Busbar systems, infrared thermographic scanning with full reporting, validation of construction-issue schematics, preparation of distribution board charts, and complete verification of the Earthing and Bonding systems.

In addition to inspection and testing, GMES Ltd also supplied full LV Authorised Person (LVAP) services. This was supported by the GMES Ltd QR-based LOTO tracking system.

As part of our deliverables, we produced and maintained structured progress and inspection reports, clearly identifying any non-conformities in line with DIN-VDE 0100-600 standards (aligned with CENELEC and BS7671).
