MD3X – Equinix

MADRID - G23060

MD3x is Equinix’s first xScale data centre in Madrid. Engineered to meet technical and operational requirements, MD3x enables hyperscale companies to add core deployments to their existing access point footprints on our global platform. MD3x is covered by 100% renewable energy and complies with international standards.

To support our client, GMES Ltd was commissioned to deliver specialist services for the new Low Voltage (LV) installation, focusing on inspection, testing and quality assurance. Our scope included comprehensive infrared thermographic scanning with full reporting to identify potential thermal anomalies and ensure optimal system performance. In addition, we carried out full QA/QC and verification of all LV busbar joints, ensuring compliance with project specifications. This was complemented by detailed inspection and testing of the LV busbar systems to confirm the integrity and reliability of all connections prior to energisation.

As part of our deliverables, we produced and maintained structured progress and inspection reports, clearly identifying any non-conformities in line with Reglamento Electrotécnico para Baja Tensión (REBT) standards (aligned with CENELEC and BS7671).
